Pattern

We’re pursuing maturity in Christ in a world that conspires against it.

Let’s get started.

  • Here at St Basil’s we are giving our lives to following the way of Jesus, together, for the renewal of the region. This is a life-long pilgrimage of apprenticing to Jesus, lived out in community, empowered by the Spirit. Pattern is simply a tool for groups of four people to use to help each other on that pilgrimage: to mature in our faith and to grow in our fruitfulness each and every day.

  • So many elements of modern life conspire against a life deeply formed in the way of Jesus. We recognise that we are being powerfully shaped every day by the world around us and so we need to be intentional about pursuing maturity in Christ.

  • Pattern is a tool that focusses on shared stories and shared rhythms.

Shared Stories is about cultivating honest, emotionally intelligent, loyal little communities to travel the journey with. And shared rhythms is about helping each other organise our lives around three priorities: being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus and doing what Jesus did.

Pattern groups are made up of 4 people and they are encouraged to meet fortnightly or as frequently as they wish. It is a core rhythm of the St Basil’s community.

Groups >

The first thing to do is get into a group of three or four. Click below for some tips and advice on how to do this.

Shared Stories >

The first thing you do as a group is reflect on and share your stories with each other. We believe knowing our stories and sharing our stories is a critical part of letting Jesus shape us.

Shared Rhythms >

Once everyone in the group has shared their story, it’s time to start forming some spirit-filled patterns of being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus and doing the things Jesus did.
