Sundays at St Basil’s

Thing’s are looking a little different this Spring and Summer here at St Basil’s. With The Orange Elephant Farm now re-open to the public, we continue our nomadic journey of faith as a community.

Our overriding sense for this season is that God is using this period ahead where "we can't do as we've always done" as a "holy interruption" to teach us something new and prepare us for greater fruitfulness. It's about "fire" (increasing our spiritual vitality) and "clay" (surrendering our shape for the sake of our mission).

So, our pattern of gathered worship over the next six months will look like meeting together as a whole one week for “Big Sundays” and then in smaller groups the next week for what we are calling “Small Sundays”.

Big Sundays

When: 2nd and 4th Sundays, from 9.30am

Where: West Town Farm, Ide, EX2 9TG

Why: To gather as a whole community sustain momentum, share stories of God at work, worship, pray and teach into all God is doing in this season

Small Sundays

When: 1st and 3rd Sundays

Where: Various locations

Why: To gather in smaller groups in order to deepen our sense of being known, create more space for people to be activated in their gifts and oxygenate conversation around mission

If you want to understand more about the season ahead for us as a church then do listen back to Pete James’ talk on our website here. In the talk Pete named the season as about “Fire” (spiritual renewal) and “Clay” (missional surrender) as well as a moment to go deeper relationally.
